Television is one of the many things that kids like to do, whether it's before school or after doing homework . Many kids look forward to watching their favorite show. A lot of shows on tv right now are very violent and some parents are ok with it and some don't approve at all.
I think it doesn't affect our society having shows that have violence in them or shows that are all about crime.
Crime shows have been around for many years , it's not like crime shows just started now when there was a lot of crime happening in the world. A lot of people enjoy crime shows like " How to get away with murder " or " Hawaii 5-0 " , those shows are watched by a lot of people and most people watch shows like that for adventure. Crime shows give people are rush of excitement and it keeps them on their feet wondering what's next .
Another thing people fail to notice is crime right now isn't the worst it's ever been . In the seventies, murder was at it's all time highest . As of 2018 the murder spree has gone down since the seventies. People can't just think it's this century and it's all the crime shows on tv, people are realizing how these shows are just acting and how it isn't real life.
Tv shows with crime are in no way saying you should go out and murder someone or go rob a bank. Tv is supposed to be an escape from real life, tv shows you things that you don't see in your everyday life. People who act in crime shows aren't actually doing crime , they are just acting and following a script. People who go out and do those terrible crimes aren't following a script, they are deciding on their own terms to go through with a crime.
I understand that tv crime shows aren't for everyone but if as a parent you think it promotes violence , then don't let your kids watch it. It is up to you as a parent to tell your kids what they can watch and what they can't watch . Even if your kids fight back and think your being obnoxious, your the one in charge who makes the decisions. Crime shows will expose your kids to a whole different type of tv but if that is not something you support or something you think your family doesn't need to be watching then don't let them watch it.
Violence is everywhere , as much as people try to pretend it's not there . People need to educate themselves and have enough common knowledge to know, what's on a tv is is just for the show . Crime tv shows need to stop being taken out of context and tv is just for fun. People makes shows to give the audience something to enjoy and if that is a crime show for some people , then just let them watch it and let them make their own decisions. Tv is for fun and if people realize crime shows are for fun and not real life , then I think crime shows should continued being made.
