6. 3 words that are important in volleyball are digging, pancake, and spiking. Digging is used when a ball is coming very hard towards the ground and players need to get it up. They pass it up with a perfect platform and are usually sliding on the ground to get the ball. Pancake is the same thing as digging, but they are doing it with just one hand. Usually if the ball goes straight to the ground with no time to dig it, players put their hand out on the ground, hoping that their hand will hit the ball up, which is a pancake. Spiking is when players jump up and hit the ball with one hand directly down towards the other team.
